Dr Kat Aguilera, Founder & Clinical Lead
With over 15 years’ experience working across frontline services, including the prison service, the NHS and private practice, Dr Aguilera offers a warm, collaborative approach to psychological care, grounded in evidence-based treatment and best clinical practice.
She specialises in working with adults facing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including trauma & PTSD, complex trauma, and attachment & relationship issues. She is particularly skilled in helping individuals understand and overcome the lasting impact of childhood trauma, while also supporting individuals working in frontline and emergency services.
Dr Aguilera’s therapeutic style is integrative, drawing on models such as EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and psychodynamic approaches. She tailors treatment to each individual, ensuring clients feel heard, understood and supported throughout their journey.
As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), she is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where clients can explore their difficulties, process their experiences and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Aguilera is passionate about supporting police, military and other high-pressure organisations to understand the psychological impact of cumulative stress and trauma. Through training, consultancy and speaking, she advocates for the early recognition of trauma while promoting psychologically healthier organisations.
