Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
EMDR is a trauma therapy, designed to help those with distressing or traumatic memories. The theory behind EMDR is that many psychological difficulties are the result of traumatic life experiences, which have not been properly stored in memory, and are therefore unprocessed or blocked. These memories may need some help to become processed, which is the purpose of EMDR as a therapy for trauma. Find out more on our dedicated EMDR therapy page.
